" My practice is divided between two worlds that feed into one another: the restoration of historic buildings and watercolor painting. For over thirty years, my work preserving the physical architecture of Guanajuato has taught me that old walls are not just stone; they are vessels for the human stories that lived within them.

When I paint, I use that same preservationist's eye. Watercolor requires a balance of strict architectural control and absolute spontaneity. I use transparent washes and deliberate draftsmanship to document the quiet rhythms of everyday life, whether I am painting a local miner, a street vendor, or the historic alleyways of my home. My goal is to look past the surface to capture the specific dignity and presence of these subjects. These paintings are a visual archive of cultural memory, inviting viewers to pause and observe the deep humanity found in our shared spaces."
