"This collection contains work that continues a story I've been telling for a while now. I have become fascinated with two headed creatures. I've also been imagining so many scenes from the outside world, specifically ones viewed through a window. I've been painting variations of these concepts since I began teaching myself to paint at the beginning of this year. I have been thinking a lot about perception, and how each person is experiencing a unique perception of reality. I've been thinking a lot about philosophical concepts like solipsism, free will versus determinism, and realism versus idealism. Hence the view through the window and two headed creatures. As for the bones, they are nostalgic of my childhood in Texas.

I used to play on my grandparents' ranch and find old dead things in the grass. As a child it was thrilling and disgusting. As an adult I find them very enjoyable to paint. The framing of the paintings are made from various types of fabric. Most of the embroidery is done with my 110-year-old Singer 114w103 chainstitch machine. It is a very cool, very old school machine with a hand crank and gas pedal."
