From the Artist:
I am a Muslim-American, self-taught abstract artist, and my work is deeply shaped by memory, faith, and a reverence for the natural world.
I was born in Pakistan and raised between cultures. That experience of movement and adaptation has stayed with me it taught me how to exist in more than one space at once, and how to find a sense of belonging within myself. There’s a quiet strength in that, and it continues to inform my work.
My artistic process is slow and intentional. I’m guided by both intuition and heritage. Often, I begin my pieces with Urdu script, fragments of language that carry prayers, poetry, and inherited wisdom. They aren’t always visible, but they live beneath the surface, embedded within the layers, shaping the energy of the work.
Over time, my practice has naturally evolved into the abstraction of florals. I’m drawn to florals not just for their beauty, but for what they represent, resilience, growth, and renewal. There’s a quiet power in the way something delicate can also be enduring. That duality mirrors my own experiences.
Nature and the human experience have always been my greatest source of inspiration. It holds both chaos and harmony, movement and stillness. In that space, I find a sense of grounding. Through my work, I explore those same ideas being rooted yet expansive, navigating change while holding onto something steady.
Each painting, for me, is a way of seeking calm. It’s an invitation to pause, to breathe, and to reconnect, with ourselves, with memory, and with a sense of quiet strength. In that process, I find both healing and the greatest sense of hope.
