"To Love and Grieve Mexicanly explores the enduring relationship between love, loss, memory, and cultural inheritance. Rooted in my experience as a Hispanic artist, this series considers grief not as something to overcome, but as an expression of love that continues beyond death.

Through my paintings, I explore the rituals that keep memory alive and the objects we create to hold what cannot be held. The work moves between the intimate and the inherited, the sacred and the ordinary, asking what it means to remember as an act of devotion and to carry those we have lost forward.

The title draws from a contemporary phrase that has circulated online, describing the culturally specific ways we experience and express something. Here, I extend that language to love and grief, reflecting on the humor, devotion, and inherited traditions through which we continue to hold those we have lost."
