"My work explores the connection between nature, culture, and identity through imagery that reflects the landscapes and traditions of Hispanic communities. The Prickly Pear Cactus, deeply rooted in the landscapes of South Texas and Mexico, symbolizes resilience, endurance, and the ability to flourish in even the harshest environments. Alongside this piece is another work inspired by the Bougainvillea, whose cascading blooms transform homes, streets, and gathering places into vibrant expressions of color and life. Though delicate in appearance, the plant thrives under intense sun and dry conditions. Continuing the embodiment of resilience while evoking memories of home, family, and the everyday beauty woven throughout Hispanic communities.

These collections of works also celebrate culture through collaboration. It has been an honor to partner with local businesses this year making an impact in the local hispanic cuisine; Honduran food truck Five O Four and Mexican cafe Mercado Sin Nombre. The Honduran Baleada, represents comfort, community, and the rich culinary traditions that have been passed down through generations, making it a powerful symbol of Honduran culture and identity. The iconic Masa Twinkies paired with the Atole Cortado perfectly melds the flavors rooted in traditional Mexican tradition with the creativity that builds community in East Austin. Together, these pieces honor the stories, traditions, flavors, and people that shape Hispanic culture. In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, this body of work is both a personal reflection on my roots and a celebration of the resilience, creativity, and shared experiences that continue to inspire me in the artwork I create as a Cuban-American living in Austin, Tx."
