About the Artist:

Abbey Engrav is a Dallas, Texas–based painter working in oil and acrylic. Her practice combines painting with collage and layered imagery, using familiar subjects to build new narratives. She is interested in how images can shift in meaning when they are placed in new contexts, creating work that invites viewers to reconsider what they are seeing.

More recently, her practice has expanded to explore landscapes and open horizons. She is drawn to the sense of space and possibility they offer, as well as the way they reflect the passage of time. Her current work examines how places and images change over time, and how our understanding of them evolves alongside our own experiences.
