About the Artist:

"These works span both place and time, carrying fragments of my life between Texas and Mexico City. A handful of them were sketched in CDMX almost like notes, capturing the movement of the place where my mother was born and where my family still lives. The color palettes are rooted in the tiles and textures I saw as I walked its streets.
One of the largest paintings in this collection came after a pivotal moment in my life when I bathed with spirits in a cenote with my cousin near Chichén Itzá, just after graduating university. That encounter was my soul’s renewal, and I poured the experience onto canvas. It was a reminder that even in turbulence, creativity has always been my way to transform.
For me, painting is a practice of memory and inheritance. It is how I connect with my lineage, honor my body’s resilience, and translate lived experience into color and form. These works are offerings of both place and becoming. They are a celebration of where I come from, and where I am going."
