About the Artist:
Karla Cabido is originally from Matamoros, Mexico. She studied graphic design at the Universidad de Monterrey, where she lived before moving to Austin in 2019.
Karmita originally started as a hobby thanks to the pandemic, but it has now become her full- time project. Coming from such a colorful and vibrant country like Mexico has had a strong influence on her art; the use of bright colors and detailed pieces among with her love for painting eyes to create imaginary creatures is a common theme in her work.
